Today Getaway

Is Today Getaway 619-354-5935 a Scam?

I have received a number of questions from my followers about whether the company Today Getaway, who calls from 619-354-5935, is a scam. Most of the people who write to me can’t believe how cheap the Today Getaway packages are, believing the company to be a scam. Naturally, many people associate things being too good to be true with scams; and while it is always good to be cautious, my research suggests that this company is not a scam. I took some time to find out more about this company.

To find out if Today Getaway is a scam, read on…

Have you been contacted by 619-354-5935

If you have been contacted by 619-354-5935, you are not alone. This number is registered to Today Getaway, and while it may be a California based number, the agency is actually located in Mexico. Why Mexico? Surely that is a sign that it is a scam? On the contrary, Today Getaway is selling low cost vacations in Mexico’s top vacation locations. So, naturally, the company is based in Mexico. In fact, if you head to the company’s official website (http://www.todaygetaway.com) you will find there are two telephone numbers listed: 619-354-5935 and 1-877-216-4046. The 619-354-5935 telephone number is a California number while the 1-877-216-4046 is an international number, both of which you can call to speak to an agent.

What happened when I called 619-354-5935?

I took the time to call 619-354-5935 to see whether this was, indeed, a scam. To my surprise I was greeted by an agent who was very knowledgeable about the packages on offer by Today Getaway as well as the destinations in Mexico where this company serve. The service I received did not give me the impression that it was scam.

Today Getaway Positive Reviews

By doing some research and checking reviews also revealed that this company is not a scam. While I found a couple of complaints from people who did not want to receive phone calls from 619-354-5935, the majority of reviews were very positive. Reviews suggest that the offers are real.

Why are the packages so cheap?

One of my initial doubts as to whether this company was a scam came from the fact that the cost of the packages seemed to be unusually cheap. Too good to be true. However, when I checked Today Getaway’s official website I found some useful information in the frequently asked questions section. It would seem that this company offer cheap vacations because they work with a vacation club that does not use traditional marketing methods, investing their marketing budget in getting people to their resorts to try out their products firsthand, hence the cheap prices. In return for the packages, you are expected to attend a presentation, but there is no obligation to purchase anything.

I hope this article has been of use. Please leave your comments below and let me know about your experience with callers from 619-354-5935 and Today Getaway.

Villa del Palmar Timeshare Points

Bank and Borrow Villa del Palmar Timeshare Points

The way we vacation is always evolving; once upon a time the timeshare industry was rigid and very expensive, but these days the timeshare and vacation club industry runs on the usage of membership points and the flexibility they offer. Being able to bank and borrow timeshare points is a huge benefit of Villa del Palmar timeshare memberships. These functions can be used in many ways to benefit of you and your travelling companions.

How do banked points work with Villa del Palmar timeshare?

If you don’t use all of the Villa del Palmar timeshare points that you have been allocated in any given year and you are a full member you can bank up to 100% of your allocated points for up to five consecutive years for use at a later date. If you’re a biennial member you can bank Villa del Palmar timeshare points until the next period. Any timeshare points that have been banked can be used in the same way as your yearly or biennial allocation (although there are exceptions for the holiday weeks – see below).

If you wish to bank Villa del Palmar timeshare points, you will need to do so before the yearly deadline, in accordance with the appropriate notice guideline, otherwise you may be charged a fee for late deposit. Remember that regardless of whether you bank these timeshare points, you are still liable to pay the maintenance fees for them. Therefore, it is in your interest to remember to bank them. Also be aware that those Villa del Palmar timeshare members who are behind on any payments and maintenance fees, or those who have not complied with correct documentation, might be denied the right to bank their points.

How does borrowing work with Villa del Palmar timeshare?

Villa del Palmar timeshare members can also borrow points from up to five years in advance of the current calendar year (if they are full members), or from the next period (if they are biennial members), and borrowed club points may be used to reserve accommodations up to two years in advance of your check-in date at Villa del Palmar timeshare resorts. As with allocated points the right to use your borrowed point is subject to compliance with upkeep of maintenance fees, and the reservation of units is done on a first come, first serve basis.

Holiday weeks at Villa del Palmar timeshare resorts may only be booked with regular annual club points and may not be reserved using banked or borrowed points. The holiday weeks should be stipulated in your contract but generally apply to Christmas and New Year, Thanksgiving, Presidents’ Week and Easter.

Villa del Palmar Timeshare Puerto Vallarta

The Background to Villa del Palmar Brand

The Villa del Palmar brand is one known to be trustworthy and high-quality in Mexico. This is not surprising when you consider the fact that it was created, and is operated, by one of the most trusted and excellent timeshare providers in the world: Villa Group Resorts (majority owned by Tafer Hotels & Resorts). This pioneer of the timeshare industry has been committed to vacation experiences for over 30 years providing excellent and innovative vacation experiences to customers in the USA, Mexico, Canada, and even in Europe! Not only does the Villa Group offer the best resorts and experiences, but it knows the hospitality industry inside and out from resort management and design to construction, and travel agency services.

Villa del Palmar and how it all began

The Villa del Palmar, however, is one of the crown jewel brands in the Villa Group collection operating in a number of top vacation hot-spots in Mexico. The very first Villa del Palmar resort opened in Puerto Vallarta not long after the development of the Villa del Mar resort, and was developed on the back of the success of the first timeshare resort. When a second Villa del Palmar resort was built in Cabo San Lucas along with the Villa la Estancia and Villa del Arco Cabo resorts, a quality brand was fully defined!

The Villa del Palmar Flamingos resort in Nuevo Vallarta was named thanks to the neighbourhood in which it stood, and brought the excellence and luxury for which the Villa del Palmar stands to the golf lovers of the world (the resort is near many world class courses). Soon after, the high-end Villa la Estancia (the second of its name) was opened in Riviera Nayarit.

The pinnacle of the Villa del Palmar brand, however, and the true embodiment of its values and desired effects can be found in the Cancun and Islands of Loreto resorts which, despite standing in wholly different areas, manage to represent every aspect of the Villa del Palmar vision beautifully.

Villa Group Timeshare Scams

As much as the Villa Group timeshare division aims to provide genuine timeshare memberships and residence club services to its thousands of members, there are instances where in customers might get lured into scams from third parties and fraudsters. Reading this article will help you avoid such situations.

What kind of Villa Group timeshare transactions are scams?

If you are in doubt about whether your purchase of a Villa Group timeshare is scam, consider the source of your purchase. If you purchased directly from a Villa Group timeshare agent at a Villa del Palmar resort, the chances of falling victim to timeshare scams are pretty non-existent. Likewise, if you are planning to buy a Villa Group timeshare, make sure that you only do business with a reliable representative, like those found in the resort offices of distinguished Villa Group resorts. These resorts include Villa del Palmar resorts in Riviera Nayarit, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, or the Islands of Loreto. If this is the case, then worrying about a scam is not necessary. Villa Group timeshare scams will only generally affect you if the transaction involves a resale property.

How genuine are timeshare purchases from leading timeshare providers?

As mentioned above, scams are very unlikely if your transaction happened while located at the timeshare resort with an official representative. Nevertheless, even with a direct purchase, and you might still think that what you are into is a scam. If this is the case, to set your mind at rest, you should verify your sale with the timeshare provider (in this example, Villa Group timeshare). Remember that Villa Group timeshare resorts, like most reputable vacation club providers, operate according to the policies and guidelines of ARDA (American Resort Development Association). ARDA is a trade association which represents timeshare businesses in different manifestations.

What to do with Villa Group timeshare Scams?

If you are reading this article because you want to get help with a Villa Group timeshare scam, then most likely it is because you had a transaction with a fake timeshare resale or a resale that had certain limitations on its usage. For example, maybe you purchased a timeshare membership that had outstanding maintenance fee debts that you have to pay before you can use the resort, or maybe there is only 2 years left on the membership that you purchasing thinking you were buying 10 years. These are the kinds of common timeshare scams that might affect any timeshare resale.

Resale Scams

These kind of scams advertise themselves through Facebook, newsprints, Ebay or the usual classified internet sites and advertisements. The best approach to minimize your losses is to seek legal assistance. A District Attorney might help with the procedures and actions to lessen the negative effects that you might experience. Although this does not guarantee the full return of the money you spent.

As you can see, Villa Group timeshare scams do not exist per se. Rather, as a rule, you can avoid Villa Group timeshare scams if you avoid resales.

Stay Safe from Disastrous Vacation Rental

Stay Safe from Disastrous Vacation Rental

When thinking of a great vacation, we can choose to rent a condo or a home close to a quiet beach or in the hub of the downtown area surrounded by lively establishments. We like our vacation rentals to be in the ideal locations, with lots of comfortable space to move around and having the useful amenities close by. Booking the right place means doing extensive searching and hoping it will turn out for the best.

Vacation rental disasters happen all the time when our expectations are not met or sudden problems arise bringing unfortunate events. There are small things we take for granted that often spell the difference between a nightmarish stay or a dream accommodation haven. Here are some tips that you can consider that will make you safe against disastrous vacation rentals.

Inspect your vacation rental or have someone else check it

If you are booking your vacation rental for the next year and find yourself in the location, use the time to check out the property in advance. Otherwise, get an agent to check it or ask the owner to give you a virtual tour via video conference in real time. That way you get to see for yourself just what to expect of your property. Remember that photos can be deceiving. You can also read feedback from previous renters

Make sure all essential items are listed in your contract

Never be fooled by false marketing promises. Ask for confirmation about deal-breaker inclusions for your vacation rental like internet connection, dish washers, hot tubs, pools etc. Vacation rentals often turn out to be a lot different from your expectations; an advertized jacuzzi can turn out to be an ordinary bath tub or what should have been a luxurious well equipped room, in reality simply resembles a box with wooden walls. The lesson here is: be sure of the place before booking it.

Consider using an agent

Look out for agencies that have a small list of curated properties that suit your needs. They can have better quality than most advertised rental homes because they had undergone routine inspections and scrutiny by the agency’s expert staff. Agency vacation rentals can be more expensive, but if it can assure you of a great accommodation on vacation, a few dollars added won’t hurt.

Check for Old Damages and Breakages

This can save you from paying for items and furniture that you didn’t break or damage. Having a checklist of damages that were already present in the vacation rental saves you from paying for “sins” you didn’t commit. You’ll be then entitled to getting back your deposit in its full amount, no deductions and no charges.

Use a Credit Card Instead of Cash

Set aside your cash for future expenses like food, shopping needs and transportation fares. When it comes to paying your booking fees and rental charges, use your credit cards. This leaves a paper trail and protects you from fraud as it leaves you with proof of your payment, thus making an easy claim or a refund for anything you’ve paid beforehand. Obviously, be sure to use only secure sites if paying online for your vacation rental.

What does the Better Business Bureau do

What does the Better Business Bureau do?

The Better Business Bureau is a service which aims to give consumers more confidence in the companies that they do business with. For the last 75 years they have been giving businesses that meet their high standards and requirements the Better Business Bureau “Seal of Approval.” Companies who meet the Better Business Bureau’s criteria can then feature the BBB logo on their website, business cards, products and correspondences if they wish.

Service Assurance

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is very well known in the United States and Canada as a source of assurance when it comes to a business or services quality – many people will look to the BBB to ascertain whether or not they can trust a particular company or corporation. Like other consumer orientated agencies the BBB is a non-profit, non government affiliated organization that is dedicated to providing consumers with safety and building trust in the wider marketplace.

Consult the Better Business Bureau

Any consumer can consult the Better Business Bureau to find out whether different businesses, services, and even charities are legitimate and reliable. It doesn’t matter whether they are online, offline or start ups the BBB can help you to gain confidence. They do this by, among other things, enabling you to see if your money is going to a legitimate business and not a company involved in false or misleading advertising.

Legitimate and Reliable Businesses

The reason that the Better Business Bureau’s seal of approval is so sought after by businesses is that it is a recognizable symbols that tells customers that they are legitimate, reliable and operate to high standards. The fact that it also helps them to differentiate themselves from scammers is a plus for new businesses. If businesses wish to keep their place in the BBB books then they must adhere to the standards of practice set out by the Bureau.

The Better Business Bureau collects information on all businesses, too, whether they’re accredited or not, and they can process consumer complaints against accredited and non-accredited businesses. If a customer is unsatisfied with the treatment they received from a local business then they can go online or call their local bureau to file a complaint. Not only will the BBB give you a voice and begin the complaint process, they will follow up right to resolution! The BBB can claim to resolve 70% of the complaints put to them.

Mexican Timeshare Solutions and a few other companies claim that they can cancel or resell your timeshare with no problem at all, but beware that they could be fraudulent, take precautions. Look below on how to protect yourself from Mexican Timeshare Solutions scams.

Mexican Timeshare Solutions

Mexican Timeshare Solutions is one of those companies that claim that they can cancel or resell your Mexican timeshare and get your entire money back. If you visit their website online, then you will see so called testimonials from people who say that they have used this company’s services and they were able to cancel their timeshare. A few of the timeshares that this company has claimed to cancel include Real Club timeshare, Velas Vallarta timeshare, Mayan Palace timeshare, and the Villa Group timeshare. Are the testimonials actually true? Does the Mexican Timeshare Solutions company provide a genuine service for their customers? The truth is yet to be seen, because in Mexico, customers who have purchased a timeshare and it is within the cooling off period can cancel their membership without any fees. So, why would you need to use the Mexican Timeshare Solutions services if you can do it yourself?

Legal Cancellation of Mexican Timeshares

There is a legal process that is called the cooling off period. This means that you can cancel your timeshare yourself without having to using a service within a certain timeframe. The real scammers are those that claim that they can resell and cancel your timeshare. When you are experiencing a problem with your timeshare, then contact the timeshare company yourself. It is much better to deal with the timeshare personally instead of involving a third party company. Avoiding the Need for Mexican Timeshare Solutions

Some of the best advice that I can provide you with is to read your contract carefully. When you are dealing with a reputable timeshare company you will have a VLO (Verification Loan Officer) present. The VLO will assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have with your timeshare contract. This is the time that you should ask all the questions that you have. Have the VLO explain all the clauses and the sales.

What are the Risks of a Villa Group Scam?

What are the Risks of a Villa Group Timeshare Scam?

To answer the question: what are the risks of a Villa Group Timeshare scam, you need to take a closer look at the evidence.

The risk of a Villa Group Timeshare scam is extremely low. Firstly, the Villa Group is a legitimate company who offer timeshare across Mexico, and, as such, you are in no danger of being caught out by a scam if you buy directly from the Villa Group or one of their associated brands. Whether you buy from Club Caribe, Villa del Palmar, Villa La Estancia, Villa del Arco, or UVCI (Universal Vacation Club International), you will find yourself in no danger of being scammed.

How can be sure that the Villa Group is not a scam?

Well, you might first consider the Villa Group’s long standing reputation for excellence and reliability! The Villa Group Timeshare own and operate more than 8 resorts in Mexico which offer full and fractional deeded ownership, as well as hotel accommodation and timeshares! These resorts can be found in Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, Loreto, Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas.

Add to this their 30 years in the business and it becomes pretty obvious that there is no possibility that this company is a scam – the danger involved with dealing with them directly is non-existent.

Cases of Villa Group Timeshare scams.

There are, in fact, no direct cases of Villa Group timeshare scams, although you should always be wary of the possibility of resale scams. These particular fraudsters target Villa Group owners with the promise of profit, should they sell on their membership, but there are also those who claim to be able to cancel or sell on your timeshare for large fees. You should always beware of these situations, and make sure that you check the reputation of anyone you work with.

The only cases in which people have been scammed with the promise of a Villa Group membership are those in which they have not bought directly from the resort in question. The best piece of advice you could be given is to only buy from the Villa Group on site, in a sales room, and only from their employed sellers. Should anyone try to have you sign a contract off site, refuse to do so before clarifying directly with the Villa Group resort. Report the incident immediately to the resort if you think you are being involved in a Villa Group scam.

In short, there is no real danger of a Villa Group scam when buying directly from the Villa Group or its associates.
