First Class Honeymoon Flights

It’s not too hard to realize why there are so many newlyweds who want to book First Class honeymoon flights for their first vacation as Mr. and Mrs. In the past, those who sit at the front of the plane would often be viewed as among the world’s elite; however, that is now a thing of the past. Honeymooners may love the idea of having some additional space and a more private experience but are first class honeymoon flights really worth it when today first class flights are akin to Business Class in many aspects. For sure, it is not as romantic as it once was.

Think about these four things when opting for first class honeymoon flights:

  1. Destination
  2. Are you going on a domestic flight to the Caribbean, Mexico, or someplace that is farther away? If the air time is under 5 hours, the difference between Economy and First Class is nearly nonexistent. You may get priority check-in, slightly more legroom, and also a free drink, but there really is not much of a distinction between the two areas. It becomes better if you are in for a longer trip. Think twice about purchasing First Class tickets for honeymoon flights, unless it is through a major luxury airline such as Swiss Air or Singapore Air. where cabins look like mini-apartments rather than airplane seats.

  3. Type of Plane
  4. In the vast world that is airplane travel, it can make quite a difference what type of plane you are in for your flight when it comes to First Class amenities. Older airplanes commonly do not have the range of luxury accommodations that are on newer ones, especially with technology. Small jets do not afford the space that you have with larger planes. You also could end up in a puddle jumper that has single row seating in its First Class section, which means you could be more than an arm’s length from your new spouse. This is far from an ideal situation when you are on your honeymoon.

  5. Airline
  6. Airlines have different standards too, so you should consider what airline you take for your honeymoon flight. Much of the travel within the continent of North America does not have a great deal of First Class seating. With Delta, you get extra space, better food and beverages, and free wifi service. Remember that airplane food is always going to be just airplane food.

  7. Price Tag
  8. The cost of your honeymoon flight may not be all that important to you. However, an extra $500 to $1500 can make all the difference to your honeymoon spending on treats and experiences. Think about if it is really worth it to upgrade, or if you would prefer to “go all out” with the services and other extras that you purchase while you are on your honeymoon trip. Massages, in-suite chef service, and shopping excursions are only a few of the things that you can enjoy with this money. Spend it on something that you and your spouse will love to do, rather than bumping up your tickets to First Class – unless that is really important for you as a couple.
